We’re walking the aisles and sharing the visuals – it’s the place to be!
Each November of every year, the Las Vegas Convention Center opens up all its five exhibit halls for the SEMA Show, and this latest 2024 edition was once again filled with new products from major vendors, and a place to take care of business, all the while having a fantastic backdrop of spectacular parts and show vehicles displayed. As evidenced by the images, there was no shortage of innovation and creativity in the various builds. Everywhere you looked, exciting show vehicles, cool new products and booths filled with the latest aftermarket goodies.
Here’s the “Part I” photo selection.
MOPAR! MOPAR! MOPAR!
Walking the show saw a good selection of all things Mopar® and then a visit to the Mopar, Jeep® and Direct Connection exhibit revealed a big display of Mopar crate engines, Direct Connection parts and pieces, plus a splash of cool Mopar-themed vehicles.
The buzz of the show was vivid!
MOPAR LEGEND “BIG DADDY” JOINED THE FUN
There’s only one #1 NHRA drag racer of all time and that is Don “Big Daddy” Garlits! He was there shooting the breeze and signing books, a real icon of the sport and a blast to listen to!
RING BROS DO IT AGAIN!
Mopar E-body fans rejoiced when the Ring Bros rolled into SEMA with their latest beauty: 807-hp Pink ’Cuda that took 5,600 hours to create in their Wisconsin shop. 1.5-inch extended wheelbase was just one of the tricks they gave it during construction. Roadster Shop Fast Track chassis included in the mods. Sweet!
MOPAR WALL ART
While there was some convention center remodeling taking place at the main entrance area, that didn’t change anything in terms of cool cars displayed everywhere as usual! The SEMA Art Walk exhibit was in a new place; however, if you’re a serious SEMA visitor, you found it, and it was again filled with some of the Mopar-related unique automotive artwork and “man cave” wall hangings.
A wide variety of unique items featuring the Mopar and Chrysler logos were in the mix, SEMA has it all!
RETRO RAT FINK ED ROTH ART
Included in the art available inside the Art Walk were these two licensed HEMI® E-body “Rat Fink” art pieces done by Ed Roth back in the day.
CLASSIC CHRYSLER
Who better to show us the Meguiar’s display car than Barry Meguiar himself! It’s a radical yet clean 1959 Chrysler 300 E featuring 1,000HP 6.2L SRT® Hellcat HEMI, Stage 2 Tremec T56 6-speed trans, one-off Roadster Shop chassis and carbon fiber wheels. 8,000-hour build! A big brute with modernized ingredients.
NHRA IN THE HOUSE
The National Hot Rod Association had a booth and conducted interviews throughout the event. NHRA and the SEMA Show go back to the genesis of the trade organization.
DIRECT CONNECTION DRAGSTER
Featured front and center at the Holley Performance Brands exhibit was this large image of Tony Stewart doing a burnout from the U.S. Nationals.
MOONEYES DISPLAY
Chico Kodama and the Mooneyes booth, always located at the very front of the exhibit hall because Moon had been one of the pioneer SEMA Show exhibitors from the very start!
ORANGE KRATE RETRO DODGE VAN
Brett and Darinda Sutton came all the way from Florida with their 1974 “Orange Krate” Dodge Maxi-Van that features unreal, super-detailed airbrushing on both sides! Retro vans are cool and there’s a growing following these days.
SNAKE & MONGOOSE ART
Talented Las Vegas-based artist Larisa Roshina shows some of the latest work from her studio: 1970 Don Prudhomme Hot Wheels ’Cuda Funny Car, 1973 Tom McEwen English Leather / NAVY Duster Funny Car!
And she also did a “Big Daddy Swamp Rat” early dragster rendering honoring Don Garlits!
REMEMBERING GEORGE POTEET
Mother’s Wax had a very fitting “The Passing of a Legend” tribute to the recently passed hot rodding legend George Poteet with this Blowfish Barracuda salt flats car … it had run over 300 mph five times with the best exit speed of 319.2 mph! A great man and an honorable display featuring the famous Salt Flats Mopar vehicle he drove.
GENERAL LEE
As long as there’s available 1969 Dodge Chargers and Orange paint, there’s always going to be “General Lee” tribute cars!
SUPER BEE
No matter where you walk the SEMA Show, be it inside or outside, there are always high-quality Mopar vehicles displayed … including this rare 1968 Dodge Super Bee.
NEXT IN PART II COVERAGE
We keep walking the show floor of all five Exhibit Halls with coverage including radical Jeeps, modified Challengers, carbon fiber Chargers, plus the Joe Dirt Daytona!
