Looks Can be Deceiving…

At first glance, you wouldn’t think there’s anything special about this 2006 Dodge Charger R/T Plus. A.J. Berge purchased the car in 2009 and won a handful of races, and two championships, behind the wheel before he sold it. The next owner won a championship with it, too, before moving on and the vehicle ended up back with Berge. That’s when things got interesting. Starting with a billet 426-cubic-inch Gen III HEMI® engine from Berge’s own company, Hemituner Performance, he decided to turn his Charger into a record-setter. Berge added a custom set of headers from American Racing Headers and the same supercharger that’s used on the Dodge Drag Pak Challengers provided by Whipple Superchargers, then paired it all with a TH400 and torque converter that transfers power through a carbon-fiber driveshaft to the billet. The 22-pound boost helps the engine generate almost 1,400 horsepower that runs a 7.67 at 179 MPH in the 1/4-mile. Don’t just take our word for it – read up on the details and see for yourself below.
