We all know the Dodge Charger is the greatest car ever made (*other views are available, but come on, you know), and that the latest generation continues to be the pinnacle of muscle car lifestyle. With the Charger celebrating its 60^th anniversary this year, enthusiasts in Europe have been eager to get their hands on it and now the wait is finally over, with the announcement that the next-generation Charger is now available to order.

Now, you lucky people in the U.S. already know most of this stuff, but there’s major excitement in the Dodge community in Europe surrounding the arrival of the new Charger. It could be an even bigger event than that soccer thing that kicks off this week.

Described by Autoguide as “cool as all hell” and by Car and Driver as having an “entertaining demeanour”, the new Charger will be available as the all-electric Charger Daytona or the petrol-engined SIXPACK-powered model. Both are built on the same STLA Large multi-energy platform to give the option of two very different performance experiences, while staying true to the unmistakeable Dodge DNA.

For the first time, the next generation Charger is available in two-door or super practical four-door body styles, with R/T and Scat Pack trims in both versions.

“The next-generation Charger brings Dodge muscle into a new era without losing what made it iconic in the first place: attitude, performance and emotional driving,” says Fabio Catone, Head of Brand for Dodge in Europe. “With both all-electric and gasoline-powered versions, the new Charger gives European customers the power to choose their own expression of muscle performance while remaining true to the DNA that defines Dodge.”

Each model provides an exhilarating interpretation of modern muscle car performance, with the Charger Daytona arriving as the world’s first all-electric muscle car, featuring a 400-volt architecture, an electric motor on each axle and a massive 100.5 kWh battery pack. All-wheel drive helps to harness the incredible 500 kW (670 horsepower) in the Scat Pack configuration, which launches from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in only 3.3 seconds and covers the quarter-mile in just 11.5 seconds. If you want to go all in on the Charger experience then an optional Track Package for the Scat Pack features 16-inch Brembo brakes with red calipers, 20-inch wheels (305 front /325 rear), adaptive damping suspension and a Drive eXperience Recorder.

The Charger Daytona R/T provides 400 kW (536 horsepower) and is no less thrilling, reaching 60 mph in 4.2 seconds with a quarter-mile time of 12.4 seconds. Both models boast charging as fast as they look, capable of topping up from 20-80 percent in 27 minutes on a 350kW DC charger with peak charging of 183kW. Another very useful stat in the real world is that fast-charging means you can add 110km of range in only ten minutes.

Stats only tell part of the story because there’s so much more cool stuff in the new Charger. This includes PowerShot, which at the press of a button on the steering wheel provides an extra 40 horsepower for that burst of overtaking speed.

The design is equally as cool, an amazing modern evolution of 60 years of the Charger. As well as the instantly recognizable looks, there’s an innovative R-Wing at the front for aerodynamics, an illuminated Fratzog badge and the engineers have given it a very clever and unmistakable performance sound through a Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust device.

If you want a more traditional Dodge sound, the SIXPACK-powered Charger has you covered. Its 3.0-liter Hurricane twin-turbo inline six engine delivers 550 horses and can sprint from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.9 seconds and boasts a quarter mile time of 12.2 seconds. The R/T version with its 420 horsepower will hit 60 in 4.6 seconds and do the quarter mile in 12.9.

Again, the stats are cool, but it’s what you do with them that counts. The gasoline-powered Charger has all-wheel drive with an on-demand rear-wheel drive button, so when the mood takes you, hit that button and all the torque goes to the rear wheels for a smokin’ good time. If you really want to smoke that rubber then Line Lock is available at the touch of a button and if its maximum attack acceleration you’re after, then Launch Control is at your command.

Both electric and gasoline variants feature Multiple Drive Modes, meaning you can enjoy a relaxed drive one moment or switch through modes to engage Race on the track. Do that in the Charger Daytona Scat Pack and the Drive eXperience Recorder will let you review your awesome driving skills over and over again.

In Europe, the new Charger has been configured to meet all expectations in terms of performance, comfort, safety and technology. The Plus trim level for the Scat Pack and R/T versions includes 20-inch wheels with three-season tires, power front seats, 64-colour Attitude Adjustment interior lighting, Premium LED headlights, 16-inch digital instrument cluster and a head-up display to keep you focused on the road ahead.

Options include a Blacktop package with a Dark finish to the wheels, badging and exhaust tips, a fixed panoramic glass roof, 18-speaker Alpine Pro audio and Demonic Red seats because who doesn’t love Demonic Red seats.

Pricing starts at €66,000 and orders are now open through the official European importer, KWA, and its dealer network. First deliveries are due in September 2026 and every customer who buys a new Charger will receive a letter of authenticity signed by Dodge CEO, Matt McAlear as well as an exclusive welcome kit box. Those who choose to charge into electric muscle car living with the Charger Daytona can also benefit from special prices on a home charger and installation.
